LED Restoration

A common issue that I come across regularly is the amount of light that a camera head emits. Many camera owners ask if there is a way to upgrade their LED’s so they can see more clearly while inspecting pipes etc. If you do not routinely clean your system, the buildup of muck on the face of your camera will eventually dim the light from your LED’s and possibly stain the plastic window.

With a little bit of TLC, the LED window above can be restored to a point that you will be more than happy with, not to mention how much brighter the LED’s will be.

Another example shown below, has a different issue. Not much caked on muck but there are small gashes and other imperfections on the LED window.

Keep in mind that the LED window section of these types of cameras also supply an airtight space for the electronics within. Use caution if you are attempting to try to restore any part of the camera head. I do not recommend using any type of cleanser or chemicals. In most cases, a little bit of time and effort will make a big difference in how bright your LED’s are.
